planting a fire escape garden

i potted basil, sunflowers and a tomato plant today to keep my wee lavender shrub company. i like looking at it through our bedroom window and i like seeing it from the street as i walk home from work. gardening is something i want to do more of.

overheard from the street:

"beep, beep. fuck you!"

the wedding parade has officially begun

the kickoff was the girly fun shower hosted by my mother on june 1. i was surrounded by the loveliest of ladies who did indeed shower me with love, thoughtful gifts and creative activities.

next in line was the bride and belles ball at lake chelan, last weekend. Some of the finer features were homemade ice cream, yoga on the beach, fireside rite of passage rituals, a ladies luncheon and an impromptu dance party.

and now i marvel, each day, that this is really happening. cool girl meets super cool boy, loved ones show their support and marriage ensues.
